CHALLENGE & OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of this project is to improve the delivery of Women, Children and Adolescent Health (WCAH) services in the Kasese district. In addition to this objective, the project also focuses on successfully accomplishing two sub-targets:
- To increase evidence and understanding surrounding the impact of Global Financing Facility (GFF) funds on the quality of WCAH services.
- To strengthen RCRA’s linkages with other Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) partners working in the Kasese district communities
ACTIONS TAKEN BY RCRA
- In 2019, RCRA produced and published the first scorecard on Global Financing Facility and results-based financing implementation in the Kasese district
- 20 civil society organizations were trained at a sub-national level in budget advocacy. This training strengthened their capacity to engage in expanded district health management teams
- Engaging in budget advocacy and expenditure tracking to improve financing for women, children and adolescent services in order to sustain Kasese community interventions
RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
60 young mothers have been trained in a saloon as coiffeurs and later supporting them with start-up kits
